Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air...      It's February, the month of love and romance and snow. Yep, that's right, snow. If you live along the east coast, you have more than your fair share of the white stuff. Me? I love it. We ski, snowshoe, cross country ski, ice skate, snowmobile, sled--if it's a snow sport, my family wants in, but all these snow days throw a monkey wrench into my writing routine. I need a quiet place away from it all. But the kids, the dog, the cats, the turtles (well, they're ok), the husband...Yeah, he's home every snow day too, makes creative writing time during the day IMPOSSIBLE! I could get mad. I could get angry... But instead, I romp around in the snow and drink hot chocolate and eat chips and dip, and then, when the kids go to bed and my hubby falls asleep, I sneak back down to my quiet writing nook and let the voices in my head come out and play. Gosh, that sounds creepy. I love my days with my family and my nights with...

YA. NA. Huh?!?!

So, I decided to title my Blog, "All Things YA and NA," but what is YA and NA? YA or Young Adult is a category of writing that exploded overnight with that popular little vampire book. Hmm, what was it's name?               Any guesses?                                     You got it!  Twilight by Stephenie Meyers Every hear of the Hunger Games, Ender's Game, The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent, Beautiful Creatures, City of Bones... All YA! Hollywood jumped on the bandwagon. Now, it's your turn. You will not be sorry. Main Character Age Range: 15-18 Audience Age Range: 12-100 My list of YA favorites grows every day. First Blog Post

To blog or not to blog, that is the question. I decided the other day to take the blog plunge only to discover that I took the plunge TWO years ago. Oopsie! 31 people checked out my sad, empty page with nothing more than a boring title and a lonely white silhouette, longing for a real face..               Fear not dear followers, I plan to blog often. SPOILER ALERT: I am not one to share a lot about myself, but the road to publication is a long and bumpy one and if I can part some advise to newbies and those who travel with me, FANTASTIC!
