BOOK BLITZ & BLOG TOUR: Starr Fall

Dear Alison and friends,  This week you are in for a treat. (Well, I hope it's a treat.) We've had three posts in three days, but for excellent reasons. Alison needed to have a dance party to celebrate her new Work in Progress  and aside from the fact that everyday should be reason for a dance party, I'm participating in a Book Blitz and Blog Tour for Starr Fall in anticipation of the upcoming release of Starr Gone, Book Three of my young adult series. In case you missed the cover reveal, here's the post.  So, over the next two weeks, a load of different blogs are hosting me. I've written some cool posts about Starr Fall, shared details about the characters, created Character Pinterest boards, and shared new excerpts, so be sure to follow along with the Blog Tour and comment. Plus there's a giveaway for a $10 Amazon Gift Card...  Let's get the  Starr Fall Book Blitz rolling! One Starr falls, and a killer rises. STARR FALL Kim Br...

Book Review: WE ARE OKAY by THE Nina LaCour

Dear Kim, You know my love for Nina LaCour runs deep. I've written about Hold Still and Everything Leads to You at length. Her novel with THE David Levithan, You Know Me Well , is only one degree from any other book that I am speaking about at any given time. I love her work. (I guess I already said that...but...) Mon coeur pour ses livres de LaCour. Fitting, LaCour's latest book released on February 14th-- a day of love. We Are Okay is a masterfully written story about loss, self-preservation, and family. We Are Okay brings us into Marin's life on winter break, her first year of college in New York. Since Gramps died, she has no family to return home to in California, so she stays on campus alone. Until her friend Mabel, who was once her everything, visits after not speaking for months. Snow piles up around them as questions are left unanswered. Then slowly, LaCour unveils the answers. We learn about Mabel and Marin through flashbacks. We learn about Gr...

Book Recommendation: WHEN THE MOON WAS OURS

Dear Kim, Glass pumpkins, true love, WHEN THE MOON WAS OURS buy here or here or here . and magic. Does anything sound better for a Halloween read? WHEN THE MOON WAS OURS has all three and so much more. It is a perfect book to curl up with on this all hallows' eve. (Really any time of year because this book is stunning, I just really want you to start reading tonight .) Author Anna-Marie McLemore  creates a world of unique beauty with jagged, mysterious edges. We are drawn into the love story between Miel and Sam immediately, their fairy tale grown from a deep trust. It blooms with an equally deep longing for true love. Sam brings the moon to Miel. He lights the path between their homes with moons so that she can find her way to him, and he to her. He hangs the moon in trees across town for sick children and those in need. He is caring and quiet. Sweet and reserved. His love for Miel is all encompassing and flows throughout the book even when she isn't...
