ALL THINGS YA and NA NAME CHANGE

Times are a changing. Big things are happening in my writing life. My New Adult Thriller, And Then He, debuts Thursday on Amazon. Don’t worry—you’ll hear ALL about it. I will be shamelessly plugging myself on every social media outlet I’m a part of.  Don’t miss the cover reveal tomorrow. It’s sure to warm you up on a brisk fall day. Hell, you might even overheat. But there’s also more to my writing career then New Adult and Young Adult fiction writing. My writing and reading interests run the gamut of categories and genres—that’s why I’ve decided to change the name of my blog to ALL THINGS WRITING. I’m excited about the change. REALLY excited. ALL THINGS WRITING will allow me to interview and cheerlead for all my writing and illustrator buddies, and I’ve got A LOT of them. It’ll also gives me the opportunity to talk about different issues that don’t fit the old blog. So, get ready because big things are coming your way! Write on, Kim Briggs

Where in the World has Kim been?

That's a good question, and one I can probably answer, but it won't be quick and believe me, it might even be painful. Since July's World Cup post, I've been to Ocean City, New Jersey, Los Angeles, CA for the SCBWI Conference--pure awesomeness by the way (I'll post photos in the upcoming months--you know just me hanging with Stephen Chbosky, Perks of Being a Wallflower , and Jay Asher, Thirteen Reason's Why ), and the day after LA, I left for three weeks to camp in the Smoky Mountain National Park in Tennessee. During the fall, I coordinated and ran Eastern Pa's Fall Philly Event, and spent my afternoons and weekends as my kiddos personal chauffeur. I've also been elbow deep in revisions for my New Adult, And Then He --and squeak: It's ALMOST ready to submit. I'm a little crazy and A LOT neurotic, but I swear to you I will be submitting it soon. Darn thing won't publish itself. And shiver me timbers and call me stubborn, but after the Fal...

HOT TOPICS: Love at First Bite by Kim Briggs

In 1987, the Lost Boys  Vampires bit me. My love for the blood suckers was tempered only by my lust for Jason Patrick and his profound desire to stay human.  Then Interview with The Vampire came along in 1994. The movie only added to my Vampire LOVE. Tom Cruise (albeit a creepy and startling blonde version of my Top Gun stud) and Brad Pitt, need I say more? Actually I do, AND Antonio Banderas all played dark, haunted, twisted vampires.    Anne Rice's published Interview with The Vampire in 1976. I drool over it whenever I go to Barnes and Noble because the cover is so darn cool. Seriously, look at it. You know you want one, admit it. Through all my movie watching and book reading, I've discovered that there are no set rules for Vampires. The Lost Boy Vampires sleep in a cave and hang upside down by their claws. Garlic doesn't bother them, but Holy Water sure burns the heck...
